Ortal Wilderness Three Sided 25H Fireplace

A log fire you can see from three sides of the room. Quick Facts • Viewing Area: Glass on three sides of the fire. • Fuel: Natural gas or propane. • Controls: Handheld remote with thermostat; wall switch and app control optional. Who It’s For A fireplace set flat in a wall shows its fire to the seats directly in front of it—everyone else in the room gets a view of the wall. You need a fire you can see from every seat . If you’re planning a peninsula, a room divider, or the end of a run of wall, and you want the flame itself to look like burning logs rather than a ribbon of fire, the Ortal Wilderness Three Sided 25H is the one. Choose a single-sided unit instead and the fire belongs to one couch. What Makes It Special Most gas fires announce themselves as gas: a line of flame over glass or stone. The Wilderness burner is built around ceramic log technology, so the flames climb through a stacked log set and what you see is a fire that reads as burning wood —without hauling, lighting, or sweeping any. Glass wraps three sides of the firebox , so the fire shows to the sofa, the table, and the walkway at once. Built into the end of a wall or a peninsula, it works as an architectural feature and a fireplace in the same footprint— the fire can be enjoyed from anywhere in the room, not one row of seats . The remote carries a thermostat: set 70 and the fireplace holds the room there , adjusting the flame on its own. Add the optional app control and it does the same from your phone. Possible Downsides • The log set is purchased separately —the fireplace doesn’t ship with one. • No screen-style heat barrier is offered on this model ; double glass is the barrier option. • With the double-glass barrier the fireplace runs on household power , so it won’t operate during a power outage. If you want the fire visible from three sides of the room and a flame that reads as burning logs, the Wilderness Three Sided 25H is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in. The log set comes in five styles—dark brown, chopped wood, driftwood, valley oak, and birch—so the fire can match the room you already have.
