More Product Info

Almost four feet of fire, and a wall cool enough for the TV above it. Quick Facts • Viewing Area: 43 5/8″ wide • Heat Barrier: Your choice of protective mesh screen or double glass. • Fuel: Natural gas; propane with a conversion kit. • Controls: Handheld remote with thermostat; wall switch and app control available. • Lighting: Optional interior lighting, dimmable from the remote. Who It’s For You’ve planned the whole room around one wall—the fire, the TV, the tile—and most built-in fireplaces make you compromise: a metal border around the glass, a wall too hot to hang anything over. You need a fireplace that’s built into the wall, not onto it. If you’re remodeling or building and want a wide, modern fire that reads as part of the architecture, the Ortal Front Facing 44 is the one. Pick a standard built-in instead and you’ll live with a visible frame around the fire and a TV pushed to another wall . What Makes It Special Ortal’s cool wall technology keeps the surface above the fireplace cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang right over the fire —no mantel between them, no awkward offset, one wall doing everything you designed it to do. The clean European design means there’s no metal border to work around: your tile or stone runs right to the edge of the fire , so the finished wall looks like it was poured around the flame. It’s a zero-clearance unit that builds into a framed wall, so the installation ends with finish work—plan for that as part of the job. Choose the protective screen version with no add-ons and the fireplace can run on batteries alone— it still lights when the power goes out , as long as you’ve kept fresh batteries in it. Possible Downsides • The double glass version requires household power and won’t operate during an outage; choose the protective screen version if that matters to you. • Interior lighting is optional , not included. • Decorative media is logs and branches only ; there is no glass or stone media option for this unit. If you want the fire built into the wall and the TV hanging above it, the Front Facing 44 is the right decision. The room you designed around that wall becomes the one everyone ends up in. The Front Facing 44 comes with your choice of five log sets—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and short or long English logs—with upgrades including bonfire logs with black ember, campfire logs, aspen logs, and charred branches, plus an optional black reflective interior and interior lighting.
