Ortal Three Sided 44" Gas Fireplace

A fire you can see from almost every seat in the room. Quick Facts • Viewing Area: 48 15/16″ wide, open to view on three sides. • Fuel: Natural gas; propane conversion available. • Controls: Handheld remote with thermostat; wall switch and app control available. Who It’s For Most fireplaces face one direction, so in an open floor plan the fire belongs to whichever couch happens to face it. You need a fire the whole room can see. If you’re building or remodeling an open space—a great room, a peninsula wall, a room divider—and you want the fire to be the first thing people notice, this is the category. A single-sided unit gives you a fire on one wall; the Ortal Three Sided 44 gives you nearly four feet of flame wrapped in glass on three sides . What Makes It Special Because the glass wraps the front and both ends, the fire reads as part of the architecture rather than an appliance set into it. Ortal’s frameless European design lets your tile, stone, or plaster run right to the edge of the glass —no louvers, no metal border, just finish material and fire. The wall above stays cool enough for what you actually want there. Ortal’s passive cool wall design means you can hang a TV or artwork directly above the fireplace , which is exactly where most open-plan layouts want them. The remote works like a thermostat: set 70 and the fireplace holds the room there on its own , adjusting the flame as needed—or run it from the wall switch or the app. Possible Downsides • It builds into a framed wall. This is a new-construction or remodel unit, and every install ends with finish work; it can’t slide into an existing masonry fireplace. • The double glass and lighting versions require household power and won’t operate during a power outage. • Interior lighting and the black reflective interior are add-ons , not included. If you want a fire the whole room can see, not just the seat that faces it, the Three Sided 44 is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in. Your choice of a protective mesh screen or double glass front, five included log sets—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and short or long English logs—plus optional bonfire, campfire, aspen, and branch media, a black reflective interior, and interior lighting let you build the look around the room you’re designing.
