The fire, the TV, and your finish materials—finally on the same wall. Quick Facts • Viewing Area: Approx. 29½” wide; the FR 25H raises the glass for a taller fire. • Fuel: Natural gas; propane conversion available. • Controls: Handheld remote with thermostat, timer, program, and eco settings; wall switch and app control optional. Who It’s For A built-in fireplace usually claims the whole wall: the TV moves across the room, and the tile stops short at a metal frame. The wall ends up designed around the appliance instead of the people in front of it. You need a fireplace built into the wall, not onto it. If you’re framing a new wall or opening one up in a remodel and you want the fire, the TV, and your finish materials together, the Ortal Front Facing FR 25H & 75 is that fireplace—it builds into the framing, so plan on tile or stone work as part of the job. Choose a conventional louvered unit instead and the space above the fire stays too hot for anything but blank wall. What Makes It Special Ortal’s passive cool wall construction keeps the surface above the glass cool enough to hang a TV or artwork directly above the fire —the fireplace wall still gets to be a wall. And because the face is frameless, your tile or stone runs right to the edge of the glass. No louvers, no metal border, no gap. The remote works like a thermostat: set 70 and the flame adjusts on its own , cycling up and down to hold the room there. Program it to come on before you’re up in the morning, run eco mode for a slow, modulating flame, or add the wall switch or app control from your phone. The FR 25H’s taller glass includes internal lighting, so the firebox glows even when the flame is off. Possible Downsides • The Double Glass models need household power and won’t operate during a power outage; the protective-screen version can run on battery backup. • The black reflective interior is an option, not standard —the firebox comes in the standard finish unless you add it. If you want the fire, the TV, and the finish materials on one wall, the Front Facing FR 25H & 75 is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in. Your choice of five log sets is included—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, or the English log in short or long—with upgrade media from bonfire, campfire, and aspen logs to charred branches and single branches in black, grey, or white, plus the optional black reflective interior and propane conversion.
