Ortal Front Facing 44H Gas Fireplace

Almost four feet of fire, with the TV hanging right above it. Quick Facts • Viewing Area: 43 5/8″ wide, 21 5/8″ tall. • Fuel: Natural gas; propane with a conversion kit. • Controls: Handheld remote with thermostat, timer, and eco settings; puck remote, wall switch, and app control available. Who It’s For Most built-in fireplaces make you compromise twice: a metal frame interrupts the finish, and the wall above gets too hot for a TV. You need a fireplace the room can be finished right up to— screen, artwork, and all . If you’re building or remodeling and you want the fire to be the focal point of the wall, not a window set into it, the Ortal Front Facing 44H is the one. Pick a standard framed unit instead and you’ll end up planning the wall around the fireplace’s limits. What Makes It Special Ortal’s passive cool wall technology keeps the wall above the fire cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly above the fireplace . The fireplace stops dictating where everything else in the room goes. The frameless European design lets your tile, stone, or plaster run right to the edge of the fire —no metal border between your finish and the flame. And this is the high-glass version: the fire stands almost two feet tall , so it reads as a wall of flame from across the room. It builds into a framed wall, so plan on finish work as part of the job—our team covers that at the in-home preview. Interior lighting comes included on every H model , dimmable from a soft glow to full brightness, so the logs stay lit as a display even on nights you don’t run the fire. Possible Downsides • It won’t operate during a power outage —the lighting system runs on household power, and so does the double glass version. • It ships set up for natural gas ; running it on propane means a dealer-installed conversion kit. • The black reflective interior is an add-on , not standard equipment. If you want the fire to be the first thing people notice—and the TV hanging right above it—the Front Facing 44H is the right decision. The wall you’re planning becomes the room everyone ends up in. The 44H comes with your choice of protective screen or double glass front, an optional black reflective interior, and log media ranging from the standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and English log sets to bonfire logs, campfire logs, aspen logs, charred branches, and single accent branches in black, grey, or white.
