More Product Info

Over six feet of fire, built into the wall like it was always there. Quick Facts • Viewing Area: 77 1/8″ wide × 29 1/2″ tall. • Fuel: Natural gas; propane with a dealer-installed conversion kit. • Controls: Remote with built-in thermostat; wall switch and smartphone app options. Who It’s For Most gas fireplaces read as a box in the wall: a framed window of flame with trim around it, and the room ends up decorated around an appliance. You need a fire that’s part of the wall, not set into it. If you’re building or remodeling and you want the fireplace to be the thing people notice first, the Ortal FR 77HH is that fireplace. Choose a standard framed unit instead and you live with the trim; choose this one and the finish materials run straight to the edge of the fire . What Makes It Special The FR 77HH carries the tallest glass in Ortal’s front-facing line: a fire over six feet wide and nearly thirty inches tall , with no frame between the flame and your finish. Tile, stone, or plaster runs right to the glass, so the fire looks built into the house rather than installed in it. The wall above it stays usable. Ortal’s passive cool wall technology keeps the surface over the fireplace cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly above the fire —no deep mantel required. Living with it is push-button. Set the remote to 70 and the fireplace holds the room there on its own , adjusting the flame as needed; eco mode cycles the fire gently through the evening, and the app option runs it from your phone. Possible Downsides • Propane takes a conversion kit ; the unit is set up for natural gas out of the box. • The black reflective interior is an upgrade , not included. • Double-glass and lighting configurations need household power and won’t run during an outage. If you want the fire to be the first thing anyone notices when they walk in, the FR 77HH is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in. Your choice of five included log sets—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and short or long English logs—with bonfire, campfire, aspen, charred-branch, and single-branch sets available as upgrades, plus the optional black reflective interior.
