Who It’s For A flat fireplace faces one direction, and in an open floor plan that means half the seating looks at a blank wall while the fire plays to the other half. You need a fire you can see from more than one side of the room. If your space opens to the right of the fireplace wall—a dining area, a kitchen, the path everyone walks—the Ortal Corner RS 68 puts glass on the front and the right side , so the flame stays in view as you move through the room. Choose a single-face unit instead and the fire vanishes the moment you leave its one sightline. What Makes It Special The glass turns the corner. Nearly six feet of flame runs along the front and wraps the right side, and because Ortal builds frameless, your tile or stone runs right to the edge of the glass—the fire reads as part of the wall, not an appliance set into it . Passive Cool Wall Technology keeps the surface directly above the fire cool, so a TV or artwork can hang right above the flame . In a corner installation, that’s usually the wall the whole room faces. The remote carries a thermostat: set 70 and the fireplace holds the room there on its own, adjusting the flame as needed. Eco mode modulates the fire between high and low around your set temperature, and the optional app runs everything from your phone. Possible Downsides • Right-side glass only —if your room opens to the left, the LS 68 is the mirror of this unit. • Interior lighting and the black reflective interior are add-on options , not included. • Ships set for natural gas ; running propane takes a conversion kit.
