What Makes It Special The glass turns the corner: 53 inches of fire across the front and another pane running down the right side, with no frame between the flame and the room . It builds into a framed wall and your tile, stone, or plaster runs right to the edge of the glass, so plan on finish work as part of the job—the payoff is a fire set into the architecture, not an appliance hung on it . Ortal’s passive cool wall construction keeps the wall above the fireplace cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang right above the fire . In a corner installation, that means one wall carries both the screen and the flame instead of fighting over the room’s best real estate. Because this is a High Glass model, it comes with interior lighting you can dim from the remote —set it anywhere from a soft glow to full brightness, and run the light without the flame on a summer evening. The remote also holds a temperature: set 70 and the fireplace cycles on its own to keep the room there. Possible Downsides • It will not operate during a power outage —the interior lighting means it runs on an AC adapter rather than battery backup. • The glass wraps the right corner only ; if your corner opens to the left, look at the LS 51H. • The black reflective interior is an add-on , not included.
