More Product Info

A small fireplace that finally heats the room it sits in. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 600–1,200 sq ft • Efficiency: 70% (EPA, higher heating value). • Maximum Log Size: Up to 18″ • Fuel: Wood. • Controls: Front-mounted air adjustment. • Fan: Optional Who It’s For An open fireplace pulls warm air out of the house and sends it up the chimney, so the couch gets warm and the rest of the room doesn’t. You need to close that opening and turn it into a real heater. If your masonry fireplace is too small for a full-size insert and you want wood heat for a living room and the space around it, the Regency Classic I1150 is the one. Choose it and the wood you burn warms your room instead of the chimney. What Makes It Special The I1150 closes off a drafty opening behind a cast iron door, and a cam lock keeps that door sealed tight over the years. Inside, a brick-lined firebox reflects heat back toward you, and the ceramic glass radiates warmth right through the window. It’s sized to heat 600–1,200 square feet —a living room and the kitchen or hallway that opens onto it. Day to day, it’s simple to run. One air adjustment on the front sets how hard it burns, the firebox takes logs up to 18 inches long, and an air wash keeps the glass clean so you see the fire, not the soot . At 70% efficiency , most of the wood you carry in becomes heat in your room. Possible Downsides • It does not qualify for the US biomass tax credit ; the same-size Cascades i1500 does. • The fan is an add-on, not included , so plan on the variable-speed fan kit if you want warm air pushed across the room. • It has the smallest firebox in the Classic line ; for a bigger space, look at the Classic i2450, rated for 1,000–2,200 square feet. If your small fireplace burns wood without warming the room, the Classic I1150 is the right decision. The room with the fireplace becomes the one everyone ends up in on a cold night. Pick a black classic, black classic with nickel accent, or black contemporary door, a regular or oversize backing plate, and add the variable-speed fan kit, bottom fascia, or bottom faceplate to finish the look.
