If you’re building or remodeling and want a traditional log or crystal fire with a TV above it and a finish you choose, the Regency Grandview G800C is the one. With a standard install you work around the fireplace. Install this one on the Cool Wall system and the wall above it is yours to finish however you like. What Makes It Special Installed on Regency’s Cool Wall system, the fireplace pulls cooler air in at floor level, warms it, and lets it out in front of the fireplace and up near the ceiling, with no internal fans. That keeps the wall above cool, so a TV can hang right above the fire . Paint won’t discolor, drywall won’t crack, and you can run any finish right to the edge of the fire, even wood or wallpaper. It also keeps running when the power goes out , because it doesn’t need electricity to make a fire. If you want some of that heat in the next room, the optional Heat Wave duct kit sends warm air to a room up to 20 feet away. Possible Downsides • A small pilot flame stays lit between fires. If you want a pilot that lights only when you turn the fire on, look at the electronic-ignition G800EC. • There’s no accent or ember-bed lighting. The G800EC includes top-down and ember-bed lights as standard. • The remote and the fan are both extras. Plan for them if you want to run the fire from the couch or push heat across the room. If you’re tired of choosing between the fireplace and the TV wall, the Grandview G800C is the right decision. The fire and the TV share one wall, and the room everyone ends up in looks the way you pictured it. You can choose a log grate with ceramic oak or birch logs, or a crystal tray with coal black, iceberg, or ginger crushed glass or driftwood logs; seven interior panels, from painted black steel to standard, herringbone, and castlestone brick or black reflective enamel; volcanic stones and ember accents; a black, brushed nickel, or antique copper faceplate or a finishing trim; and an outdoor installation kit.
