More Product Info

A big firebox and one air control: wood heat for most of a medium home, without a learning curve. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 1,000–2,200 sq ft • Efficiency: 70.3% (EPA, higher heating value). • Maximum Log Size: Up to 18″ • Fuel: Wood. • Controls: One front-mounted air control. • Fan: Optional Who It’s For Heating with wood shouldn’t mean learning a complicated stove, and a stove that’s too small for the house keeps you at the door adding wood all evening. You need a firebox big enough for the space and simple enough to run without thinking about it. If you want straightforward wood heat for a medium-size home and one control you can learn in a night, the Regency Classic F2450 is the one. A hybrid stove will burn longer between loads. This one keeps the job down to loading the wood and setting the lever. What Makes It Special The firebox takes logs up to 18 inches and loads front to back or side to side, so you load it the way your wood is cut . The brick lining soaks up the fire’s heat and throws it back into the room, and the ceramic glass radiates heat too. You feel it from the couch, the way the sun warms your face . There’s no catalytic combustor and no bypass to manage. One air control on the front turns the fire up or down, a curtain of air across the glass keeps it clean so you see the fire, not soot , and a cam-lock latch keeps the door sealed tight over the years. If you want the warmth to reach farther, the optional two-speed blower and the convector airmate push warm air out into the living area. The airmate also lets the stove sit closer to the wall. Possible Downsides • There’s no catalytic combustor, so burns are shorter than on Regency’s hybrid stoves. The same-size Cascades F2500 adds hybrid burn technology for longer burns and higher efficiency. • The two-speed blower is optional, not included. • Cast iron legs need a bottom heat shield, and the ash drawer cover isn’t available with legs. The pedestal and wood-storage pedestal are the alternatives. If you want real wood heat for a medium-size home without a stove you have to study, the Classic F2450 is the right decision. Snow outside the window, a full load behind the glass, and everyone ends up in the chair closest to the stove. Choose a black or nickel-accent cast iron door, then a pedestal, a wood-storage pedestal, or black or brushed-nickel cast iron legs. An ash drawer, two-speed blower, convector airmate, and outside air kit are also available.
