Modern Flames Orion 52" Slim Heliovision Fireplace

The Orion screen-drawn fire, in a wall that was never built for a fireplace. The 52-inch Orion Slim slides into a finished wall and trims itself out, so you get a lifelike fire without building a deep chase. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–400 sq ft • Viewing Area: 14″ high • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Remote, built-in touch controls, and the Modern Flames app over Wi-Fi. • Fan: Included Who It’s For Most realistic electric fires need a deep wall or a bump-out, and that turns a simple project into a framing job. You need a fire that fits the wall you already have . If you’re adding a fire to a bedroom, a home office, or a condo living room and want the Orion’s screen-drawn flame without the depth, the 52-inch Orion Slim is the one. Choose a deeper unit and you’re building out the wall; choose this one and the fire slides in after the wall is finished. What Makes It Special The flame is drawn on an LCD screen, not a strip of LEDs, so it has the depth and movement of a real fire from any seat in the room. Pick from three flame styles in six colors, give the ember bed and the downlighting their own colors, and set the crackling sound where you like it. A driftwood log set and reflective black glass come in the box. Installation is the other half of the story: it slides into the wall after the drywall, tile, or stone is up and trims itself out , or it hangs on the wall. It plugs into a standard outlet, and its fan-forced heater adds supplemental warmth for up to about 400 square feet—or runs the flames alone with the heat off. Possible Downsides • It faces straight out only ; for a corner or three-sided bay, look at the Orion Multi. • Heat tops out around 400 square feet of supplemental warmth ; the Orion Multi reaches about 800 on a 240-volt circuit. If you want the Orion’s screen-drawn fire in a wall that has no room for a deep fireplace, the 52-inch Orion Slim is the right decision. The plain wall becomes the one the whole room faces. There are no add-on kits for this size; flame style, flame color, ember bed, lighting, and sound are all set from the remote or the app.
