Dimplex Vital Sense 50 Electric Fireplace

A fire that changes with your mood, 365 days a year. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Viewing Area: 47″ wide • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Phone app, remote, or a hidden touch panel; built-in timer up to 8 hours. • Fan: Included Who It’s For A linear fireplace usually means committing—one look, one flame color, and a fire you run four months a year. You need a fire you can restyle as easily as the lighting . If you want a modern, wall-wide flame that earns its place on a July evening as well as a January cold snap , the Dimplex Vital Sense 50 is the one. Pick a fixed-look unit instead and the fire you chose in the showroom is the fire you live with forever. What Makes It Special The flame is yours to design. 13 flame colors and seven ember-bed colors , three flame speeds, and three brightness levels mean a slow amber glow for a quiet night or something bolder for a full house—the multi-layered flame effect gives the fire real depth instead of a flat picture of one. And the flame runs with or without heat , so it works in every season. When you do want warmth, the fan-forced heater takes the chill off the room, the thermostat holds the temperature you set, and the timer shuts everything down on its own—set it for the evening and fall asleep on the couch without a second thought . Installation is flexible too: hang it on the included wall-mount brackets or recess it into the wall for a built-in look, and either plug it in or have it hardwired—the plug kit comes in the box. Possible Downsides • Everything runs on electricity —in a power outage there is no flame and no heat. • The heat is room-scale ; it warms the space it sits in, not the whole house. • The ember bed is tumbled glass only out of the box ; log sets are optional add-ons, not included. If you want a wall-wide fire you can restyle for any mood and run all year, the Vital Sense 50 is the right decision. The blank wall becomes the room everyone ends up in. The Vital Sense 50 takes four optional log sets—Split Logs, Thin Split Logs, Driftwood, and Beach Driftwood—over the tumbled-glass ember bed, so the fire can lean contemporary or classic.
