A fire as wide as the wall, without opening up a chimney. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Multi-function remote with thermostat, built-in touch controls, and a sleep timer. • Fan: Included Who It’s For Some walls are made for a fireplace, but the house never got one there—no chimney, no gas line, and no easy way to add either. You need a fire that asks nothing of the house but a wall and a circuit . If you’re finishing a living room, a media wall, or a basement and you want the fire to run the full width of the wall , that’s the Prism 74. Choose a gas unit for that wall instead, and the project grows to include a gas line and venting before you ever see a flame. What Makes It Special The Prism flame effect is the whole show: LED flames rising through a bed of acrylic crystals that catch and scatter the light, with pre-set and custom color themes you change from the remote. Set it warm and orange for a January night or cool and blue for a July one—the flame runs with the heater off, so this is a fire for all twelve months, not four. When you do want warmth, the built-in fan-forced heater holds the room at the temperature you set— up to 1,000 square feet of it. There are no louvers or grilles breaking up the face, so the fire reads as one clean band of flame from edge to edge while the thermostat quietly does the work. Possible Downsides • Hardwired connection only out of the box ; the plug-in cord kit is a separate accessory. • No power, no fire —like any electric fireplace, it gives no flame or heat during an outage. • The crystal ember bed is the only included media ; rocks, glass, and log sets are add-ons. If you want a fire the full width of the wall without adding a chimney or a gas line, the Prism 74 is the right decision. The wall you planned the room around becomes the room the whole house ends up in. The ember bed can be dressed with tumbled glass, river rocks, black rocks, or clear acrylic crystals, and topped with a beach driftwood, driftwood, or thin split log set to suit the room.
