Dimplex Ignite Ultra 88 Electric Fireplace

Over seven feet of fire—no gas line, no chimney. Quick Facts • Heating Capacity: 0–500 sq ft • Viewing Area: 88″ wide • Fuel: Electric. • Controls: Flame Connect app, wall-mountable remote, and onboard buttons; built-in timer up to 8 hours. • Fan: Included (fan-forced heater that can be turned off, or permanently disabled at install). Who It’s For You want a fire that stretches across the wall, but the wall has no gas line, no path for venting, or it’s a divider you want to see through. You need a big fire that isn’t tied to a flue . If you’re building a feature wall, a corner, or a peninsula and you want the flames visible from more than one seat in the house, the Ignite Ultra 88 is the one; pick a single-sided unit instead and you lock the design into one view forever. What Makes It Special This is one firebox with four installations : front-facing, left-corner, right-corner, or bay. You’re not buying a different model for a different wall—the same unit adapts to the design you actually want, so the room plan leads and the fireplace follows. Put it in a corner and the fire greets you from two directions at once. The fire itself is the other half. The Flex-Flame feature swaps between two flame effects—Dynamic-Fire and Multi-Fire—by changing a single component, and the quick-connect logs glow from within and pulse in rhythm with the flames . Add the crackling sound effect and you get the sound of a wood fire without the wood, and the app unlocks additional flame colors when you want the fire to match the evening instead of the other way around. Possible Downsides • Supplemental heat, not primary heat —it’s built to warm the room it’s in, not to carry the house. • Everything runs on electricity , so a power outage means no flame and no heat. • Ember-bed media and alternate log styles are optional add-ons , purchased separately. If you want a fire this size without a gas line or a chimney, the Ignite Ultra 88 is the right decision. The room it’s in becomes the room the house lives in. Options include ember beds—tumbled glass, river rocks, black rocks, and acrylic crystals—plus faux-wood log sets in split log, chunky driftwood, and thin split styles, so the fire can match the room you already have.
